It’s almost time for the current generation of the world-beating RS 6 to take a bow, but before it does Audi has prepared one hell of special edition to cap off the production run. Inspired by the legendary Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO race car, and following on from the RS 6 GTO concept from 2020, meet the über-aggressive Audi RS 6 Avant GT.
Only 660 of these super wagons will be have the finishing touches applied by just seven employees at Audi’s facility in Böllinger Höfe, where the Audi R8 and Audi e-tron GT are assembled. Aside from the wild livery, notable changes include the pass-through roof edge spoiler, redefined functional diffuser, and 22-inch wheels inspired by some of the RS department’s greatest hits. Elsewhere, the RS 6 Avant GT sees the first use of a carbon fibre bonnet on an RS 6, while the integrated air outlets behind those massive wheels will help to ensure stopping power is on point. Another notable first: the RS 6 Avant GT goes without the roof rails, meaning no strapping misbehaved children to the ski rack.
As for the mechanical bits, the RS 6 Avant GT gets adjustable coilover suspension, stickier tyres as standard, and a retuned differential that puts more power to the rear wheels in “dynamic” mode. Power is up to over 620 horsepower, meaning 0-62 mph happens in a blistering 3.3 seconds, while at full chat the RS 6 Avant GT will hit 190mph.
Of course, all of that exclusive carbon fibre, eye-catching paint, and extra power won’t come cheap: in the United Kingdom, the RS 6 Avant GT will retail for a whopping 176,975 pounds.
